Fox’s coming-of-age comedy “Oliver Beene” is set to return to the network’s schedule in early 2004 with a two-episode launch.

Before the 1960s-set laffer settles into its new home on Sundays, Fox will tease the show in the best way it knows how: A special episode of “Oliver Beene” will air at 8:30 p.m. Feb. 4, when it will follow the introduction of the newest group of “American Idol” semifinalists.

The show’s official second-season premiere will come at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 8, bumping new episodes of “King of the Hill” to 6 p.m.

“Oliver Beene” stars Grant Rosenmeyer as a young boy growing up surrounded by a quirky family in Kennedy-era America. The show co-stars Grant Shaud as Oliver’s high-strung father and Wendy Makkena as his mother. Andrew Lawrence, Taylor Emerson and Daveigh Chase also star.

After a spring premiere, “Oliver Beene” averaged nearly 9.45 million viewers.
