Jack Collins Jr., a sophomore right wing for the Naperville North hockey team, wants to win every game against Wheaton Warrenville South more than any other. Why? Jack Collins Sr. is the Tigers’ coach. North won a mid-November game against the Tigers 7-2, and Collins was held to one assist. “That was pretty fun playing against his team, especially because for most of my life he’s been my coach,” junior said. “I really wanted to beat him.” Father and son drove to and from that game together, with the coach offering tips afterward to help him create more scoring chances. Collins (6 goals, 8 assists) may get another chance at Dad as both teams are in the annual Windy City Christmas Tournament.
