player ready...Rob Ramage, the driver of the car in the crash outside Toronto that killed former Blackhawk Keith Magnuson on Monday, hopes to attend Saturday’s memorial service in Lake Forest, according to published reports from Toronto.
Ramage is still in the hospital with various injuries from the crash, and it’s unknown when he will be released. He also is facing criminal charges from the crash and police are holding his passport. Ramage could face life in prison if convicted of the charges.
Thursday, the Magnuson family released a statement saying they did not hold Ramage, a longtime friend of Magnuson’s, responsible for the accident.
“This was an accident and accidents happen,” the statement read. “We told [Ramage] how much Keith loved him and that he was certainly not to blame for what happened.”
