Zayner guns for title

Jed Zayner may be only a college freshman, but he’s already had a wealth of experience in championship soccer games. Now at Indiana, Zayner played for a state title as a seventh grader and led Sandburg to back-to-back Class AA IHSA championships. This season the Big Ten co-Freshman of the Year has helped the Hoosiers (15-3-5) reach the NCAA semifinals in coach Jerry Yeagley’s final season. Indiana managed to knock off No. 1 UCLA in the quarterfinals. Next up for Zayner is Santa Clara on Friday in Columbus, Ohio.
