Water main break closes high school

Students were sent home from St. Charles East High School Thursday after a water main break left the building without sprinklers. Classes are expected to resume Friday.

No water got into the school at 1020 Dunham Rd., and officials are not sure what caused the water line to break around 9:45 a.m. said Tom Hernandez, spokesman for Community Unit School District 303.

Repair should be finished in time to open Friday, but information will be posted on the school’s Web site if officials decide otherwise.
