TNT has found two familiar faces to star in “The Grid,” its limited series about the war on terrorism.

Dylan McDermott (“The Practice”) and Julianna Margulies (“ER”) have taken lead roles in the six-hour series, a co-production with the BBC that will examine the fight against terrorism. Production will begin early next year.

Margulies will play Maya Jackson, a counter-terrorism agent with the National Security Agency. She and FBI agent Mike Canary (McDermott), along with another American and two British agents (to be cast), form a team to take out a terrorist cell that wants to shake the foundation of the global economy. Viewers also will see the terrorist cell at work as it plans its operations.

Margulies was nominated for six Emmys during her time on “ER” and won the award for outstanding supporting actress in a drama in 1995. More recently, she had roles in the CBS miniseries “Hitler: The Rise of Evil” and the feature films “Evelyn” and “Ghost Ship.”
