Frankie Torres poured in 31 points and sank a pair of free throws with 2.4 seconds left in OT to seal the win for the Eagles (2-0). Torres was 5-for-5 from the free throw line in OT and scored 7 of Juarez’s 9 points in the period. Mario Garcia collected 13 points and 15 rebounds for the winners.

The Redhawks (4-2, 1-0) stormed out to a 19-3 lead and rolled from there behind Tiffany Hudson’s 17 points and 7 assists. Erica Carter added 13 points for the winners, while Rachel Crissy contributed 11 points. Andrea Travelstead led Naperville North (4-2, 0-1) with 14 points and 5 rebounds.

The Eagles (5-2, 1-0) rolled behind 17 points from Megan Cummens. Jill Hushka added 8 points for Sandburg, while Shantel Johnson and Ashley Easley each scored 11 for Joliet.

The Chargers (7-0, 1-0) prevailed behind 15 points and 4 assists from Eileen Walsh. Amy Hyerczyk collected 14 points and 4 steals for Stagg, which went on a 15-2 run to end the first quarter and never led by less than seven after that. Brittani Hunter and Katie Swiersz each scored 12 points to pace Lockport (1-4, 0-1).

Bridget Paine’s 16 points led four players in double figures for the Panthers (8-0). Natalie Pawlowicz’s layup with 7:47 left started a run that turned a one-point deficit into a 48-39 Glenbard North lead. Kaci Baird scored a game-high 20 points for Bartlett (3-3), which was playing without Lindsay Schrader. The junior, who had been averaging team highs of 21 points and 11 rebounds, hyperextended her knee in the season opener and took the night off to rest the injury.
