Arlington Heights’ Jonathan Spector made his debut for Manchester United’s under-19 squad Saturday, starting at left back against Liverpool in a 0-0 draw. “I had anticipated that moment for quite a while, and it definitely wasn’t a letdown,” said Spector, who wore No. 7–the former number of David Beckham. Spector headed a ball wide of the goal off a corner kick in the first half, one of several good scoring chances Man U created but couldn’t quite put away. “I was pretty pleased with my performance, especially since it was my first game . . . but there’s always room for improvement,” said Spector, who reported in early September but had to wait for official paperwork to clear before he could play.
