The Post-it Note has become an icon of contemporary American life, both in the office and at home. Intended for flat paper use in the office, “Stickies” now show up on computer screens, refrigerators, door handles, even foreheads.
And often they fall off. The stickiness of the sticky edge just wears away.
3M has been monitoring this development for years and looking into making a note that would stick better without being too sticky.
It’s finally here: the new, stickier Post-it Super Sticky Notes.
The new notes have an adhesive that allows them to stick to vertical surfaces such as doors, refrigerators, windows and computer monitors, as well as dashboards, telephones, leather and vinyl.
“It’s a new technology; revolutionary is the word we like to use,” said product marketer Mark Arnold.
He said the notes are intended for use in the home, where surfaces are more challenging.
The old notes still will be available. It’s recommended they be used for paper only.
Post-it Super Sticky Notes will start at $1.88 for a three-pack of 45-sheet pads.
