If tailback Sha Ron Edwards and defensive end Ray Robinson play as they did in last week’s 48-43 victory over Southwest Missouri, the Redbirds should keep Indiana State (0-7) winless in the Gateway Conference. . . .
Edwards became the second player in school history to Tony Davis in 1992 to exceed 200 rushing yards twice in a season. He ran for 239 yards and scored four touchdowns. . . .
Robinson had three sacks for the third time this season, giving him 12 for the season. . . .
Indiana State leads the series 27-25-2, but Illinois State has won the last five games. The Redbirds, 2-4 at home, are 2-0 outside Illinois with victories at Youngstown State and Southwest Missouri. Saturday’s game, however, is in Normal.
