Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Saturday, 49-year-old Northwestern coach Randy Walker meets 76-year-old Penn State coach Joe Paterno. “I saw Joe Paterno coach when I was a kid,” Walker said. “I told him that once. `I remember going to see you play Ohio State, I was about 10.’ He loved it.” . . . Does Walker love coaching enough to see himself on the job as long as Paterno? He laughs. “When I was 23,” he said, “I had a chance to start coaching and I’ve been doing it ever since. [Then] I thought, `About 55 sounds right.’ But I think I need a few more years. I heard Joe the other week. He said, `As long as you keep waking up every day and that’s what you love doing and you’re vibrant, you want to do it.’ He still loves doing it.” . . . The Wildcats’ Nov. 15 home game with Michigan will start at 2:30 p.m.
