Mike Ditka made another of his many appearances in the Cubs’ radio booth Saturday before singing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” for the seventh-inning stretch. And the mojo seemed to be as powerful as ever when Eric Karros jacked a home run the second Ditka walked into the booth in the bottom of the sixth. “This is the greatest thing for this city, the greatest thing for the fans–and it’s time,” Ditka said of the Cubs’ playoff run. Asked if a Cubs World Series title would rival the Bears’ Super Bowl victory, Ditka paused. “That was a special year, and what made it special was the fans because they were behind us all the way,” he said. “It’s the same way with the Cubs. It’s just a great thing.”
