Bow Wow

Unleashed

In his transition from cute kid to grimacing adolescent MC, 16-year-old Bow Wow has dropped the ‘Lil and his influential producer-mentor, Jermaine Dupri. “Unleashed,” his third album, portrays the platinum teen as a lost puppy with no real style of his own. Even big-name beatmakers the Neptunes and a bevy of guests deliver sub-par performances. The Jazze-Pha-produced “Hey Little Momma,” the only head-nodding track, is similar to another Pha-produced hit, Field Mob’s “Sick of Being Lonely.”

Take Away: Growing pains.
