The Village of LaGrange Park has received a $2,500 grant from the Springfield-based Illinois Conservation Foundation for improvements at Poet’s Corner.

The grant will be used for new flower plantings and enhanced accessibility at the park site, located near North LaGrange Road and East Harding Avenue.

The award was one of 49 grants totaling nearly $72,000 to be presented by the foundation, an affiliate of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. The statewide grant program, now in its third year, helps fund projects and programs in environmental education, habitat enhancement and natural resources preservation.
