The Arlington Heights Village Board Monday designated Taxman Corp. as the redeveloper of International Plaza, where officials would like Target to be the anchor tenant in a new shopping area.

The board directed Skokie-based Taxman to continue negotiations with Target and to present a final agreement to the village within 30 days.

The 48-store shopping center, at Arlington Heights and Golf Roads, is part of the tax increment financing district the village created last year.

The board also told Taxman to help current tenants relocate.

“We haven’t heard anything from the developer themselves. We’re still waiting,” said Yong Myong, owner of Proline Golf. “My hope is to get reasonable compensation for moving away from here. That’s all we can hope for at this point.”
