There is no chance Meigs Field will reopen as an airport, and thus no need to block the city from doing work to prepare it for a park site, lawyers for Chicago said in an Illinois Appellate Court filing Wednesday. City lawyers argued against leaving in place a restraining order that since April 4 has blocked the removal of a damaged runway and other airport structures.
