Lucy Woodward

While You Can

Following in the footsteps of Avril Lavigne and Vanessa Carlton, Woodward is the latest pop princess to jump-start her career on the Internet, giving the 26-year-old singer thousands of fans before she had an album. The disc is packed with twirly pop songs set to catchy, slightly off-kilter hooks. Throw in some tricky syncopation, better-than-usual lyrics, tight arrangements and good musicianship, and you have an impressive debut.
