Gob

Foot in Mouth Disease

On the surface, Gob has all the accouterments of success: a foul name, a grossly evocative album title and lots of sing-songy vocals. What the Vancouver quartet lacks is originality. Gob’s new album, “Foot in Mouth Disease,” does nothing to redefine the notion of pop-punk as much more than nonconformists conforming to non-conformity. The album is relatively concise, with 14 tracks amounting to 44 minutes. But even that’s too long to endure the relentless similitude tainting the record.
