Teams normally don’t get that excited over their eighth win of the season. But the Falcons’ 62-57 victory over Westinghouse on Wednesday was also their first win over the Warriors. Ever.
“This is the biggest win in the history of Prosser at any level in any sport,” said coach Brian McManus, whose team is now 8-8 overall, 2-4 in the Public Red North-West. “We’ve been coming close, but we could just never get over the hump.”
Westinghouse (9-7, 5-2) led 20-9 after one quarter and 27-25 at halftime. But Prosser’s Jason Bowden drained three three-pointers and scored 11 points during a 13-4 run to open the third quarter as the Falcons took a 38-31 lead.
Perrick Robinson scored 11 of his game-high 14 points in the fourth as Prosser’s lead grew as large as 11 points.
“Once we got over that Westinghouse aura, we just played our game and got back into the swing of things,” McManus said.
Cory Hughes scored 13 points for the Falcons and Bowden added 12. Jamarcus Ellis led Westinghouse with 12 points.
Young 66, Steinmetz 52: Anthony Harris tallied 24 points and Anthony Harris and Andre Knox each scored 12 as the No. 3 Dolphins (16-1, 5-1) won in the Public Red North-West. Andrais Thornton’s 19 points led Steinmetz (3-14, 0-6) .
Crane 75, Marshall 46: Florentino Valencia scored 17 points for the No. 4 Cougars (15-1, 5-1) in the Public Red West.
Simeon 91, Harlan 69: DaShawn Walker’s 32 points and 10 rebounds led the No. 7 Wolverines (12-3, 6-0) in the Public Red South. Andre Gullins led Harlan (6-12, 1-5) with 25 points.
Farragut 49, Manley 47: Chris Singletary sank a pair of free throws with 47 seconds left to lift the No. 10 Admirals (10-4, 6-0) in the Public Red West. Emmanuel Little led Farragut with 13 points, while Otis Terry paced Manley (9-10, 3-3) with 16.
Lincoln Park 61, Orr 50: The Lions (13-5, 5-1) won in the Public Red North-West behind Royce Parran’s 22 points.

Fenwick 74, Providence 30: Erin Lawless scored 21 points for the No. 2 Friars (20-2, 6-0) in the East Suburban Catholic.
Marian Catholic 48, Benet 40: Missy Mitidiero tossed in 20 points as the No. 4 Spartans (18-2, 3-0) won in the East Suburban Catholic. Amy Hunckler led No. 14 Benet (17-4, 3-3) with 14 points and Kaitlin McInerney added 12. Marian Catholic head coach Shannon Reidy, serving a one-game suspension for a minor violation of IHSA by-laws, did not attend the game.
York 64, Willowbrook 34: Krystal Hugelier scored 21 points as the No. 7 Dukes (21-1, 7-1) rolled in the West Suburban Silver.
Young 64, Timothy Christian 52: The No. 12 Dolphins (16-5) overwhelmed Timothy Christian in the second half as Erin Dickerson scored 10 of her game-high 22 points in the third quarter. Danielle Campbell added 10 points, eight rebounds and five blocks for Young, which held a narrow 29-27 lead at halftime. Wendy Zigterman led Timothy (17-3) with 12 points.
