Evanston senior QuoVadis Harper was recovering from surgery Sunday at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, a day after sustaining severe facial cuts in a car accident, Wildkits coach Paul Pryma said.

Harper was in stable condition, a nursing supervisor said. Pryma had spoken with Harper, whose injuries required emergency surgery, and said Harper was in good spirits. The 6-foot-6-inch starting forward is expected to be released Monday but likely will be sidelined for a few weeks, Pryma said.
