Another maternity growth spurt

Wellness has been another area of expansion in maternity shopping and services. Beyond her Target maternity-wear partnership, designer Liz Lange also has teamed up with Nike for a workout wear line, available at Niketown, 669 N. Michigan Ave. Babystyle has joined with Reebok (check www.babystyle.com) for such offerings as yoga pants, bike shorts and racer-back sports bras. And Belly Dance, the maternity boutique at 1647 N. Damen Ave., offers seminars on pregnancy and fitness. Owner Jennifer Strom Simonte plans to add a masseuse too. “We’re just waiting for the license,” she said. (For now, customers can take comfort in the shop’s supply of bottled water, Luna bars–and Hershey’s kisses.)
