A 23-year-old Lockport man was arrested this week when he arrived in Villa Park for what he allegedly thought was a rendezvous with a 14-year-old girl he had met over the Internet, authorities said.
Gabriel M. Rohan, of the 17200 block of 143rd Street, was charged with indecent solicitation of a minor when he showed up in the 300 block of Schiller Street at 9:30 p.m. Monday to meet the girl for a sexual encounter, said DuPage County State’s Atty. Joseph Birkett.
The girl was in fact a Villa Park police officer.
The arrest came on the same day that Birkett announced the indictments of a Chicago high school teacher and an Oak Park truck driver for similar alleged offenses.
Rohan was taken to the DuPage County Jail on $25,000 bond.
