The Breeders’ Cup Oct. 26 at Arlington Park did not sell out at Sunday’s ticket application deadline.

Although the total number of tickets sold of the approximately 35,000 available through the lottery was not known, officials received 6,066 requests and a sampling indicates the average request was for four tickets. Variables like multiple applications per envelope and unfilled requests due to specific seating-area sellouts will affect the total.

Envelopes will be drawn beginning Monday to begin the ticket lottery process. The track will start filling orders Wednesday in what is projected as a two- to three-week process. All ticket applicants will be notified of their ticket status beginning in mid-July, according to track spokesman Dan Leary.

Arlington will continue to accept applications through the mail, at the track and Arlington Trackside. After the lottery seats are allotted, ticket requests will be filled in the order they are received.

– For the second consecutive year, Arlington topped the nation’s tracks in Father’s Day attendance with a crowd of 24,695.
