Design Within Reach, a cool Web site (www.dwr.com) and catalog where modern design rules, has added several new products online.
In lighting, there is the award-winning Soon Task Lamp ($250) designed by Tobias Grau, one of Europe’s most innovative lighting designers. The lamp has a flat, cobra-shaped body made of transparent plastic segments that gives it flexibility in movement and a sense of weightlessness.
For the bedroom, there is the upholstered Reve Bed, which comes in queen, $1,995; and king, $2,495. The bed has a padded frame with a tailored 100-percent wool cover. Its angled headboard is perfect for reading or watching television.
And for keeping your cool, there is the Elan Light Blade Desk Fan ($50). It’s quieter than a computer and is a fashionable way to chill out.
In the catalog and online, a pair of chocolate leather Bay Club Chairs are on sale for $2,499 or $1,395 each. These chairs have clean lines and are a classic update of early 20th Century salon style. (Psst! This sale lasts another three weeks).
