Two family films for young animal lovers premiere Tuesday on VHS and DVD. Having slam-dunked basketball, tackled football and scored at soccer, golden retriever Bud takes the field to help a young girl and her misfit school baseball team. Meanwhile, a bumbling scientist dog-naps Bud’s pups to isolate the “Super Sports Gene.” The fourth in the “Air Bud” franchise, “Seventh Inning Fetch” is the runt of the litter, but young children may delight in the animal antics and silly slapstick.

Warner’s “The Saddle Club: Adventures at Pine Point” is a compilation of three episodes from the Australian television series based on Bonnie Bryant’s book series. Twelve-year-olds Stevie, Carole and Lisa are close-knit friends contending with a series of coming-of-age crises. One storyline does concern the death of a spoiled rich girl’s horse.

Disney’s ‘Lilo & Stitch’ shows comedic promise

The hilarious coming attractions for Disney’s PG-rated comedy “Lilo & Stitch,” opening Friday in theaters, are more entertaining than anything in the more epic “Atlantis.” This alien-out-of-water comedy seems more in the rollicking spirit of “The Emperor’s New Groove.”

Stitch, also known as Experiment 626, is superintelligent and superdestructive. An escapee from the Galactic Federation, he crash-lands in Hawaii, where he is befriended by Lilo, a young girl who is a bit of a handful herself.

Celebrate the summer solstice at the MCA

Creating “boogie bungalows,” mountain bike demonstrations and a magic show are just a few of the interactive activities the Museum of Contemporary Art will be offering for families between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday as part of its seventh annual round-the-clock Summer Solstice Celebration.

Participants will be able to create an Aztec Sun Mask, pocket sundial and sun visor, add to a large-scale pinhole photograph and navigate the twists and turns of the Labyrinth Project.

From 11 to 11:45 a.m., Sean Masterson will perform a “Magic Play,” which will include juggling, puppets and a very lifelike skunk.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Anthony “Pogi” Tortorice and fellow members of the Trek/Volkswagen Stunt Team will perform freestyle mountain biking.

The museum is at 220 E. Chicago Ave. For more information, call 312-280-2660.
