While “Spider-Man” and “Attack of the Clones” have stolen “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’s” thunder, last year’s biggest box office hit is looking to recapture the magic of its record-breaking theatrical run with a truly spellbinding DVD edition.
This two-disc set, available Tuesday for the suggested retail price of $26.99, boasts a cauldronful of special features that allow viewers to visit Diagon Alley (to purchase school supplies) and tour Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, from the classrooms and the Library (beware that screaming book!) to Hagrid’s Hut. A running joke on the second disc is the appearance of a bag of Every Flavor Beans in several places. Click on a designated bean to taste the good (peppermint), the bad (pepper) and the ugly (vomit).
Groundbreaking technology lets viewers use their computer’s microphone to access the second disc’s DVD-ROM features, which include an enhanced Hogwarts tour, exclusive electronic trading cards and a personal placement in one of Hogwart’s houses by the Sorting Hat. The VHS edition of “Harry Potter” ($24.99) includes deleted scenes, also available on the DVD.

Check out Cartoon Network, Doc
From “The Abominable Snow Rabbit” to “Yankee Doodle Bugs,” Cartoon Network’s 10th annual “June Bugs” mar-athon will present more than 160 Bugs Bunny cartoons (minus several now-controversial racially insensitive toons) in alphabetical order. The 38-hour marathon begins at 7 a.m. Saturday. Set your VCR for “Duck Amuck,” actually Daffy Duck’s best, Bugs famously gets the last word (at 1:50 p.m. Saturday), “Rabbit Seasoning” (at 2:30 p.m. June 2), “Slick Hare,” in which Elmer Fudd frantically tries to fill Humphrey Bogart’s order of fried rabbit (at 4:30 p.m. June 2) and Chuck Jones’ wonderful “What’s Opera, Doc?” (at 8 p.m. June 2).
