More `Vice’: “Miami Vice,” the 1980s NBC cop drama that featured cool clothes, sharp cars, and a hip attitude and visual style, is being brought to the big screen by Michael Mann, the executive producer of the series and director of the films “The Insider” and “Ali.”
Mann has a deal to write, produce and possibly direct a feature version of “Vice,” which starred Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas as undercover detectives. There’s no word on casting.
Meanwhile, NBC has renewed “Third Watch,” its Monday night action series about a group of New York police officers, firefighters and paramedics, for a fourth season. The series, which was given a full-season renewal, saw some of its highest ratings April 29, when 17 million people watched.
