WMVP-AM 1000 afternoon personality Dan McNeil was suspended from the station late last week after a heated exchange off the air with his on-air partner Harry Teinowitz grew ugly, sources said Monday.

McNeil, who is no stranger to the suspension drill following stints in the penalty box previously at rival sports talker WSCR-AM 670, will be off the air until Monday.

Station executives wouldn’t comment on the incident. Mitch Rosen, WMVP station manager, said only that it was an “internal matter” and that McNeil would be back on April 22.

Neither McNeil nor Teinowitz returned phone calls.

– CBS’ telecast of Tiger Woods’ second straight Masters title drew a 9.9 overnight rating Sunday. That’s at least 40 percent higher than the final-round rating for the three prior majors–when Woods finished back in the pack. Overnight ratings measure the country’s 53 largest TV markets. Each ratings point represents 1 percent of TV homes in those markets. National ratings will be released Tuesday.
