No “Sex”: HBO has suspended production of its Emmy-winning comedy “Sex and the City” due to the pregnancy of star Sarah Jessica Parker.

The series, which won the Emmy for best comedy last year, has already shot two episodes, but chances are the fifth-season premiere, which was to air in June, now will be pushed back to July.

Work on the series will cease April 10 “in order for HBO to evaluate its production schedule in light of [Parker’s] recently announced pregnancy,” the cable network said in a release. Columnist Liz Smith reported that Parker, 37, and actor Matthew Broderick, 40, are expecting their first child in the fall. They have been married for almost five years.

There is no word on whether Parker’s character, relationship columnist Carrie Bradshaw, will also be with child. Bradshaw’s friend Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) had a baby at the end of last season.
