Northwest seeks early birds

Northwest Airlines wants passengers at departure gates no later than 15 minutes before flight time, up from 10 minutes.

The extra time will give agents a better chance to get flights out on time.

For flights to Hawaii, Northwest will shorten the gate deadline to 30 minutes before departure from 60 minutes. The airline will continue to require passengers on international flights to check with gate agents no later than an hour before departure.
