player ready...The 48th annual DuPage County Fair is not set to open until July 24, but now is the time to sign up for sponsorships and commemorative license plates.
Two hundred special-event license plates will be issued, featuring this year’s fair theme, “From Farm to You.” Plates, priced at $20 a set, may be displayed from May 30 until the fair ends July 28.
People buying license plates for cars, light trucks and other qualifying vehicles must provide the fair office with a copy of their vehicle registration form. Participants who buy plates as collectors’ items need not supply registration information.
Plates may be picked up at the fairgrounds after May 25, or by mail for an additional $3.
Fair sponsorship levels range from $100 to more than $5,000. Sponsors’ business logos will be printed in about 3,000 fair catalogs and on 200,000 fliers, said sponsorship committee chairman Stephen Haas.
For more information about sponsorships or plates call the fair office at 630-668-6636.
Attractions at the fair will include performances by Ted Nugent and the Charlie Daniels band; racing pigs; a cow birthing center; demolition derbies, and a food court.
