While job-hoppers are often the first to go when companies cut jobs, experts say technology workers should be honest about their wandering work history.
Ralph Stow, co-founder and senior vice president of Dallas technology executive recruiting firm Whitehouse & Pimms, says an explanation can work wonders: “I think you need to be able to weave a very logical story. Why did you go from firm A to B to C? What did you learn as you went through there?”
Whitehouse & Pimms’ other co-founder, Mark Rich, said there’s another reason not to lie on their resumes. “If you’ve had six jobs in the last five years, you need to put the six jobs down because it’s going to come out anyway,” he said.
