The Addison Village Board voted to abate nearly $2.1 million in property taxes despite falling sales tax revenues.

“Even though our sales tax receipts are a little low this year, we still have plenty to pay for the abatements,” Finance Director Thomas Kuehne said.

Total sales tax figures for this year are not yet available.

“We’re not doing anything different this year,” Village President Lorenz Hartwig said. “We told residents when we issued the bonds that they would not be paid off with property taxes.”
