The Illinois Army National Guard and the Lake County Health Department are teaming up to provide health checkups for more than 100 uninsured county residents.

Medical personnel will be at Belvidere Medical Clinic, 2400 Belvidere Rd., Waukegan, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Health Department spokeswoman Leslie Piotrowski said about 20 doctors, nurses, physician assistants and dental assistants from the National Guard, along with members of the Health Department, will provide school physicals, sports exams, child and adult immunizations, as well as dental and vision screening.

Uninsured, low-income school-age children and their parents, grandparents or guardians are eligible for the program, Piotrowski said. Most of the exams will be by appointment, but a limited number of walk-in clients will be accommodated. For an appointment, call the Health Department at 847-360-6500.
