In the rush of getting ready for school and work, it can be difficult to find the time to prepare breakfast for the family. This delicious breakfast shake is a truly quick and easy answer for a nutritious breakfast on these busy days.
I always keep plastic bags of sliced bananas in my freezer. I put one banana (about 1 cup) into each bag, which is the amount I need to make this high-calcium, high-potassium drink. This drink is also a sensational topping for dry cereal. In fact, I like it better than the usual combination of sliced bananas and milk on cereal because the banana flavor is more intense.
To vary the flavor of this shake, you can substitute either 1/2 teaspoon coconut extract or 1/4 teaspoon rum extract for the almond extract. You also can eliminate all of the extracts if you prefer a plain banana taste.
