The Lincolnshire Village Board voted Monday to approve construction of a 56-unit town home development on the north side of Half Day Road between the Vernon Area Public Library and Lincolnshire Animal Hospital.
Developer Kevin Buck of KAB Enterprises in Gurnee said the 12-acre subdivision, Beaconsfield of Lincolnshire, is designed to attract empty-nesters, minimizing the impact the development would have on local school systems. He said prices for the mostly one-story units will likely start at $300,000. Construction is expected to begin this summer.
At the request of the Lincolnshire Plan Commission, the developer reduced the number of units in the original plan to 56 from 62 and reconfigured the 15 buildings on the site to minimize the traffic effect on Half Day Road.
The board also voted Monday to annex 7.5 acres from Lake County needed for the development. The land, rezoned from single-family to single-family attached, will be combined with 4.5 acres already within Lincolnshire’s municipal limits to create the 12-acre site across from Schelter Road.
