A 33-year-old Zion man accused of attacking a woman in her Lake Villa home has been charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault.
Christopher Todd Keever, of the 3000 block of Elim Avenue, allegedly knocked on the woman’s door at about 3 a.m. Sunday and then grabbed her neck and choked her when she answered, according to Matthew Chancey, chief of felony review for the Lake County state’s attorney’s office.
Keever allegedly pulled off the woman’s pajama bottoms and molested her, Chancey said.
Keever became ill, Chancey said, and the woman was able to persuade him to leave. The woman called her daughter, who notified police.
Chancey said that Keever knew the woman, and that he had been drinking before going to her home.
Keever was being held in Lake County Jail in lieu of a $200,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 8. If convicted, he could face 30 years in prison, Chancey said.
