The folks at Ace Hardware think they know why kids’ rooms get so messy. It’s because kids don’t have the right organizational products (hooks, shelves, containers) to help them be tidy.
To make its point (and drum up business, no doubt), Ace is sponsoring the “America’s Messiest Kid’s Room Contest” (which sounds darn dangerous to us.)
Parent: Send one photo of your messy kid’s bedroom.
Parent again: You write the best or worse–as the case may be–25-word excuse said kid gives when asked to clean said room.
The grand prize winner of this national competition gets $5,000 in Ace gift certificates, a reorganization of the messy bedroom care of a professional organizational expert and a trip for four to Los Angeles. Nine runners-up receive $500 in Ace gift certificates.
Your messy one must be 18 years or younger. An official entry form is required. Get it at your local Ace Hardware store or log on to www.acehardware.com. Entries must be postmarked by Feb. 28. Winners will be announced in April.
