Making an exception to their policy of not televising home games, the Blackhawks are putting Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins and Mario Lemieux on Fox Sports Net. A pregame show, starting at 6:30 p.m., will preface the opening faceoff at 7 p.m.

“We want all Chicago-area sports fans to share the experience of watching one of the greatest hockey players in history,” Hawks Vice President Peter Wirtz said. “This is our way of paying tribute to Mario Lemieux.”

The game is a sellout, the Hawks’ third this season and first not involving Detroit.

Saturday special: A crowd of 8,031 was at the United Center on Saturday to watch the Hawks’ SuperSkills competition. Dean McAmmond was the fastest skater, timed in 13.79 seconds for one lap around the rink. Tony Amonte had the hardest shot, clocked at 95.1 m.p.h. Chris Herperger, who hit three of four targets, had the most accurate shot. And rookie Jeff Maund stopped 11-of-18 breakaways to win the goaltenders competition.
