The Lake County Circuit Court is seeking applicants for an associate judge’s post made available when Mary Seminara Schostok was appointed to a circuit judgeship by the Illinois Supreme Court.
Schostok will fill a vacancy left by Judge Fred A. Geiger, who has been appointed to the Illinois Appellate Court.
Attorneys licensed to practice in Illinois may submit an application to Chief Judge Jane D. Waller at 18 N. County St., Waukegan, IL 60085-4359.
Applications may also be submitted to Joseph A. Schillaci, director of the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts, at 840 S. Spring St., Springfield, IL 62704.
Forms, including a mandatory supplemental application, may be obtained from the chief judge’s office or the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts.
Attorneys who have applied for a 19th Circuit judgeship within the last six months may request in writing that their application be reconsidered. The deadline is 5 p.m. Feb. 9.
The vacancy will be filled by a vote of the circuit judges of Lake and McHenry Counties.
Associate judges are appointed every 4 years; the next appointment will be in July 2003.
