Want to get details on ski resorts, pick up deals on clothes and equipment, or join a ski club? If the answer is “yes” to any or all of the previous, you’ll want to head for Rosemont sometime Nov. 2-5. Those are the dates for the Chicago Ski & Snowboard Show.
Dozens of resorts from Vermont, the Rockies, Canada and the Midwest will be among the 200 exhibitions with representatives just itching to answer questions and tempt you to visit their slopes. A sampling: California’s Heavenly Ski Resort and Squaw Valley; Colorado’s Crested Butte, Copper Mountain and Vail Resorts; New Mexico’s Taos Ski Valley; Vermont’s Killington, Mt. Snow and Sugarbush Resort; Idaho’s Sun Valley; and Canada’s Mont Tremblant and Banff/Lake Louise.
Of course, the Midwest will be well-represented with just about every major resort present from Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois and Minnesota. Places near Chicago–Alpine Valley, Wilmot and others–will be there too. And, local ski clubs will be happy to sign you up as a member.
The show’s a good opportunity to check out new equipment with manufacturer reps and retailers. There also will be discounted prices for last year’s equipment and clothes, cross-country skiing demonstrations and a Learn to Ski Deck.
Attend Friday or Saturday and see Olympic medalist Tommy Moe. Go any day and find out about the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
