We were asked to put up out-of-town wedding guests for a night. We have one guest room with a nice sofa bed and need another bed for the two remaining adults. My husband and I could sleep on the two sofas in the great room, but I don’t want to give up our bed for one night and have someone else sleeping there. What can we do to make a bad situation better?

Why not make the two sofas as cozy and nice as you would for you and your husband so that your guests will feel welcome. You’ll surely feel better about this arrangement if you have this attitude. (We’re assuming these are regular sofas.) You could even borrow a practice from fine hotels and put a chocolate mint on the pillows.

If you feel awkward asking your guests to sleep on these sofas, then spend about $100 for a double inflatable bed by Aero. It has an attached motor that inflates the mattress within minutes and is almost as comfortable as a bed. If this is more than you want to spend, then a couple of sleeping bags from Kmart or Target stores will run no more than $50 to $70.

Now you have a few ideas to sleep on before the guests arrive.
