Poles dance! And, on occasion, they stare really closely into the night sky. To commemorate these two prominent activities during Polish-American Heritage Month, try the following events:
– The Polish National Alliance’s Wici Song & Dance Company performs in handmade costumes at seven public library branches, including Archer Heights (7 p.m. Tuesday, 5055 S. Archer Ave.) and Brighton Park (7 p.m. Thursday, 4314 S. Archer Ave.), throughout the month. Free. 312-747-4714.
– The Adler Planetarium celebrates sun-centering Polish astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus, among others, in an exhibit running from 9 a.m. Friday to Jan. 28 at 1300 S. Lake Shore Drive. $5 ($4 for seniors and kids). 312-922-7827.
