Most Oktoberfest celebrations stand for one thing, and here’s a hint: It contains hops and barley, and occasionally makes you say boorish things to members of the opposite sex. But the Beecher Oktoberfest, with German food, face painting, music and a crafts/antiques show, is a fundraiser for a historic 1881 Monee train depot. The festivities begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at Fireman’s Park on Penfield Street in Beecher. Free admission. 708-946-2499.
