Kane County sheriff’s investigators on Tuesday still had no answers about how a 16-year-old boy died Sunday night at Mooseheart, a home for orphaned or troubled children in Batavia.
The results of an autopsy performed Monday by the Kane County coroner’s office were inconclusive, said Capt. Mike Anderson.
The teenager, identified as Brian A. McMurl, originally of Galesburg, died in his sleep. Police pronounced the boy dead Monday morning after employees had found that he was not breathing.
Police said the boy had not been sick and that there were no signs of foul play. Anderson said Tuesday investigators will rely on the results of toxicology tests.
