What cultural baggage from “Survivor” will — or won’t — make it off the island?
Some predictions:
Alliances: After watching “Survivor,” you realize that concepts such as friends, family and colleagues no longer exist; we are all just part of a shifting series of convenient alliances.
Catch the fish: “You can’t [fire, divorce, dump] me, I catch the fish around here!”
Immunity challenge: Cutting-edge employers will begin tying bonuses and raises to arbitrary strength- and intelligence-testing contests.
Nudism: We’re guessing there won’t be a massive trend toward parading around in the buff — Richard’s naked antics are enough to keep all of North America modestly clothed forever.
Rattana: Expect the Pottery Barn to come out with a new line of high-end wicker furniture with this name.
Tagi: As in, “You’re so duplicitous and scheming — you’re just so Tagi!”
Voting someone off the island: We’re sick of this cliche already. Hope a new one is created by “Survivor 2” (voting someone off the Outback?).
