A bicyclist was seriously injured Wednesday in an early-morning collision along the Prairie Path, authorities said.
Holly F. Tapley, 32, of Bridgeman, Mich., was riding west along the trail near West Chicago, said Monica Sampias, spokeswoman for the DuPage County sheriff’s office. The collision happened as the cyclist passed in front of a Jeep traveling south on Prince Crossing Road, Sampias said.
Tapley was in critical condition Wednesday at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, a hospital spokeswoman said.
The Jeep driver was not injured, Sampias said. The driver told police he had been unable to stop as the bicycle approached, she said.
