Fireworks, cannons and classical music are the featured attractions at the Lake Forest Symphony’s 21st annual 4th of July Concert-on-the-Green.

The symphony concert, under the direction of guest conductor Stephen Alltop, will begin at 8 p.m. Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, featuring a live cannon, and other patriotic favorites, will be played during the fireworks display.

The celebration, to be held at Deer Path School, 95 W. Deerpath Rd., will include pre-concert entertainment by The Gregory Wyser-Pratte Quartet and local singer-songwriter Warren Beck.

The gates will open at 4 p.m., and pre-concert performances will begin at 4:15 p.m.

Advance tickets for lawn or reserved table seats may be purchased from the Lake Forest Symphony office, 225 E. Deerpath Rd. Reserved table seats are $20 for adults and $10 for children ages 2 to 12. Lawn tickets also may be purchased at Don’s Finest Foods, 850 N. Western Ave.

Tickets for lawn seats will be available at the gate for $11 for adults and $5 for children.

Free shuttle-bus service to the concert will be available from Christ Church, 100 N. Waukegan Rd., the town’s two Metra stations and the parking lots north of City Hall. All buses will depart from the north entrance of the campus immediately following the fireworks.
