A 31-year-old Elmwood Park man was killed in a two-car collision that slightly hurt three other men Tuesday night in Rosemont.

Patrick King had apparently driven his late-model Saturn across the median into the northbound lane of Lee Street south of Interstate Highway 90 when his car was broadsided by a Dodge Neon about 5:30 p.m., said Rosemont Police Sgt. Kieran Mackey.

King, who had multiple injuries, was pronounced dead shortly after the collision at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, according to reports. The three men in the Neon suffered minor, unspecified injuries and were treated at Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago and released, Mackey said. They were identified as Paul Surprenant, 33, of Jacksonville, N.C.; Jeffrey Lindstrand, 18, of Bourbonnais; and Jeremy Davis, 19, of Chicago Heights.

“Apparently the other vehicle that was struck was a U.S. government vehicle assigned to the Marine Corps,” Mackey said.

Lee Street was still closed between Mannheim Road and Interstate 90 as of 10:15 p.m. Tuesday as Rosemont and Cook County’s Sheriff’s investigators studied the scene, Mackey said.
