T-Model Ford
She Ain’t None of Your’n (Fat Possum)
Compared to his explosive first two albums, especially “Pee-wee Get My Gun,” Mississippi bluesman T-Model Ford’s “She Ain’t None of Your’n” is the sound of a rust-covered, perpetually stalled Model T. Instead of howling like he couldn’t possibly care less who’s listening, the singer-guitarist submits to typical blues material. The opening “She Asked Me So I Told Her” is a not-particularly-fierce retread of his signature theme. He covers an electric-blues standard, Muddy Waters’ “Honey Bee” (rewritten as “Sail On”), with about as much passion as any Chicago bar band. Though Ford’s grainy voice retains its personality, he sounds on “Your’n” like he ran out of things to say. Or expletives to shout.
